Background in multidisciplinary fields, including lab-on-a-chip based on nano/microfluidics; electrokinetics, far field, two tunable femto-lasers based optical nanoscopic system for in situ, 3D nanoscale measurement, super resolution cellular imaging of live cell and nanofabrication; early cancer and clinical diagnostics, detection of chemical/biological agents, biomedical devices; (bio)fluid dynamics, turbulence, mixing and etc.

Research interests

The lab has developed a multifunctional, two tunable femtosecond laser based nanoscopic and multimodal imaging system including STED, FLIM, FRET, multiphoton microscope and second harmonic generation microscope, confocal microscope, etc.

  • The lab is a world leader for fluid measurement with nanoscopic resolution. This work find application in fundamental research in

    • interfacial flows

    • flow in porous media and

    • blood flow in capillary

    • transport phenomena in micro/nanofluidics, etc.

  • The lab has extensive research in

    • Super resolution imaging and nanoscopic fluid measurement

    • Fluorescence spectroscopy

    • Micro/nanofluidics and lab-on-a-chip

    • Cancer diagnostics

    • Organ-on-a-chip

    • Transport phenomena in cells
